How Is Hydro Excavation Better For The Environment

vacuum dig excavation services construction site

Hydro excavation is considered a much better digging option, not just because it is cleaner, faster and overall more efficient, but also because it is better for the environment.

How does it impact the planet?

First, hydro excavation is performed with special machines (trucks equipped with technology based on pressurized water to loose and break the soil and air vacuum to suck up debris and store it safely in the tank). From this point of view, it is obvious that hydro excavation is less intrusive when it comes to the environment.

A hydrovac truck can also thaw the soil in cold weather, simply using water heaters. For the same operation, traditional digging methods use artificial means, such as burning coal or wood, which emit pollutants into the air and increase fire risks.

Hydro excavation is also safe when it comes to underground utilities, as there are far less risks to break them using pressurized water than heavy mechanical claws and other traditional digging tools. As a result, there is no need to worry about contaminating the soil and the underground water resources.

The procedure is also safer for the surrounding plants and tree roots.
